First and foremost make sure you invitations make it clear your guests should come dressed in their 70's best. Try bell-bottom pants, lots of beads, big sunglasses, and platform shoes. Try creating a custom musical invitation with a song selection from the 70's. Your invitations must set the tone of the party and get the guests motivated to come play.  Find your pointy-collared black shirt and that tight white suit and go for it! If you are a die-hard 70s fan, you may have to drag out that old lava lamp and throw on the love beads.  Who knows, you may even dig out that old tie-dyed t-shirt.  Keep in mind bright colors and crazy hair were big in the 70's.  Don't forget about platform shoes! If you need more inspiration watch some re-run 70's shows like "Happy Days" or "Soul Train".

Now on to the decorations they should reflect the 70s—how about a disco ball?   Believe it or not, there’s a pretty simple version of a lighted dance floor you can re-produce.

Buy some inexpensive strings of tube lighting and section off part of the room for the dance floor.  Outline the “dance floor” with the tube lights.  String up the disco ball above the middle of the dance area, and there you go.  A simple yet effective decoration is bead curtains.  Relatively inexpensive you can hang these on your major door ways. Another popular decorating idea is room rolls.  These rolls are attached to your wall and roll from one wall to another transforming your room into a theme such as a disco, or some other 70's theme.

Now when it comes to music don't think that you and your buddies have enough disco music to make it through the night.  Splurge a little and hire a professional DJ. The DJ keep your guests entertained and will bring back the atmosphere of those 70's disco clubs.  Whether you choose a 70s Disco Party or prefer disco music from the 70s and 80s, your guests will have the time of their lives.

Throwing a 70's theme party is always a good time. Your guests are really going to boogie down at this one.   A Disco Theme Party is definitely where it’s at!
